About My Biblical Foundation

Many Christians know the importance of the Bible in their lives. Many read the Bible and may even use a read through the Bible in a year plan, which is a great plan. Many also participate in deeper Bible studies such as John, Romans, or Paul’s letters, which is also very valuable. The focus of My Biblical Foundation is to give the Christian an overview and a more complete knowledge of the whole Bible. This study will take you through every chapter of the Bible and allow you to break each one down and analyze each chapter in a way to help you understand what God is teaching you through the Holy Spirit. The purpose is to know all that God has revealed about Himself in His Word and develop a much more complete understanding of His character, in order to help you develop a more personal and intimate relationship with God.

To help you learn effectively, you will break each chapter into smaller more manageable divisions which will allow you organize the text in a way that helps you to understand what God is teaching you. This will allow you to be able to survey and review. You will be able to identify key verses that you can use to help you remember important points that God is impressing on you as well as the chance to memorize them. As you analyze the chapter you will be able to identify attributes of God and pinpoint topics that you will want to understand better. You will be able to make notes to yourself and draw your own conclusions from your study. Finally you can summarize and explain the concepts in your own words, allowing you to connect new information to your prior knowledge or personal experiences.

>Chapter Study

This is the heart of My Biblical Foundation. The objective is for you to have a good understanding of what God is telling you in this chapter. At least one division and the summary are required.

Divisions – The chapter may cover multiple topics or just one. How you decide on the divisions is for you with the Holy Spirit’s guidance to decide. Enter the first and last verse of the division and give it a title. You may have up to ten divisions and at least one is required. The divisions must cover the entire chapter without any overlaps.

Brief Summary – This is just a simple summary to help you determine the overall teaching of the chapter. The summary is required.

Key Verses – Choose up to five verses that you think should be remembered. If you want to add it to your list of verses to memorize, check the Memory option. Then add a note as to why you think the verse is important.

Attributes of God – List things you learned about God, separated by commas.

Points to Ponder – Every now and then we run across a passage we do not understand. This is where you indicate such a passage as a reminder to meditate on it or give it further study.

Conclusion and Notes - These are for your use.

>Reading View

The bible is displayed one chapter at a time. If you have done a chapter study on the chapter the summary will be displayed at the top and the division titles will be included. Key verses will be highlighted in yellow and memory verses will be highlighted in pink.

>Chapter Journal

This is a free form place for you to use. There are no requirements or expectations.

>Concordance

The concordance is to help you find words any where in the Bible. If you enter a single word, verses containing that exact word will be returned first, followed by verses containing similar words. If you enter multiple words separated by either spaces or commas then only verses containing all the words will be displayed. If you put quotes around all the words then only verses that contain those words together will be listed. Quoted phrases can not be mixed with words not in the quotes. The displayed verses may include verses that were chosen using similar words. My Biblical Foundation has a list of preselected verses which are common and well known verses. If you choose use only Selected Verses then this list of verses will be used in addition to any verse you have selected as a key verse.

>Find Verses

This find verses page will take either a verse reference such as John 15:5 or text. Any phrase can be used and is not required to be a verse. The verses will be returned ordered by similarity.

>Asking Questions

This ask question page will take a question or a phrase. First there will be a search for relevant verses and only those verses will be used to answer the question. The question will never be answered using any reference other than scripture. The answer to the question will be displayed first followed by the biblical text used. The question may take a minute or two to give the answer. If the question does not find any verses, no answer will be given. If the question does find some verses, but they are not sufficient to actually answer the question the result may not be correct.

>Accountability Teams

Accountability teams allow you to work together in small groups just as you would do as an individual. All members of the team will be able see (and change) the same information saved in the Chapter Study and the Journal. Any member can create a team and will become the owner of the team. Team members can be added using the Edit Profile option in the menu. The owner must know the user id of the potential team member. There is a limit of 25 members per team.
